It is official! The second TV series for Full Metal Alchemist will be released. There is not much information available now, except that it will be aired around roughly April 2009, and is scheduled to air for a year (52 episodes again?). For those who is wondering how they’re going to continue the story due to the events of the movie, sources say that this TV Series Season 2 will be a faithful adaption from the manga series. For those that do not know, the Full Metal Alchemist anime story is not exactly the same with the manga counterpart (roughly around midway through the series it branches out if I’m not mistaken). Therefore I guess this new season will not be a continuation from the movie, but instead a re-telling of the story from the manga point of view. I might be mistaken however. More information should pour out in the months to come until the release month of April. That is 8 months from now!

Looks like Edward is older. Might watch this, never finished the first season though, got caught up watching too many animes and dropped it unintentionally.

I hope it follows the manga! I love the anime,but the manga is SO much better! Hope somone does a fansub….actually maybe I will. I have a few friends who speak japanese…

I hated the way the movie ended, what with only Al getting his body back and them both ending up in the other world, but I would have hated it more if they had had a perfect, happily ever after. And I think an anime continuation of the movie would only taint it and make it bad. So a continuation of the manga would be perfect!
